Unforgiveness. Part 3.Let me start out by saying that my life should serve as a warning to others in that the path I chose led me to a cliff. If it hadn't been for Jesus intervening, comforting, and saving me, there would have been no hope for me! Because of my poor choices, I had many rock bottoms throughout my life, but will focus on one instance here where God showed up. Being plagued with depression, thoughts of suicide, and never-ending insomnia, I had hit a new low in the spring of 2012. At my end and completely frustrated, I cried out to God. My life was not right with God as I was a lukewarm Christian, nor did I have a relationship with Him, but in desperation, I asked to know why I did not have the peace and rest He promises to those who accept Him. Today is regarding anger and resentment. It's a big problem in the world, and I was its poster child. I had a lot of reasons to be angry and resentful. But who am I to hold onto seeing Jesus forgave me? Yes, I was left with deep wounds from those who hurt me, but my sins left deep wounds in Jesus. He loved me before I loved Him! I was without hope when He saved me, and I am forever grateful! There is no problem too big for God to solve. No hurt that He can't heal. No sin is too grievous for Him to forgive. Mental Fantasies. Part 8.In going more in-depth with my testimony, I want to share all that Jesus has saved me from. I had previously done episodes on thoughts and actions - the power of words and how they affected and shaped my life. But I wanted to peel back yet another layer of my life on this subject, as while it is along the same lines, this one might not be as obvious to some as an issue with its hidden dangers and what could stem from it. There is nothing wrong with a healthy imagination as some experts say creativity relies on imagination. But as with anything else, there's a fine line between having a healthy imagination and the slippery slope of nurturing an offshoot of such, to levels of reliance, as the world of fantasy becomes addictive to where it can get out of control, leading to a corrupted and perverse mind. But each one is tempted when by his own evil desires he is lured away and enticed. Then after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. The conviction that the cross brings does not give us the warm fuzzies or tickle our ears, but is sobering as it cuts to the heart. The message of the cross shows the seriousness of sin and its consequences. The cross and what it represents serves as a reality check that sheds light on two eternal destinies that we freely choose. The message of the cross defies human logic causing offense, and is considered foolish to those who have hardened hearts blinded by sin. The message of the cross does not boost our self-image, affirm us in sin, or encourage pride, but is humbling. The cross openly proclaims that we are sinful, and that our corrupt acts cost the precious life of the innocent Son of God, our Creator. The cross compels us to admit that none of us are good enough, and that without Christ’ stepping into humanity to intervene, and suffering the penalty for us, there would be no hope for us. The message of the cross implies a need of dying to self and surrender to fully embrace Jesus in order to live life to the fullest – a message that makes no sense to some. A little about me: It took me decades to come to Christ after a life of sin and straight-up rebellion following a childhood devoid of love and filled with betrayal and abandonment. It took me forever to realize that there is only One who can fulfill us and satisfy. One who knows all our dirty laundry yet loves us more than anyone. Highlighting foolish leadership and the consequences of leaning on our own understanding instead of seeking the wisdom of God. Though he inherited the judgment of a divided kingdom, consequences for Solomon's idolatry, Rehoboam could have changed the trajectory of the nation's future by staying in God's will by actively seeking Him to stay in relationship and in covenant. The blessing for obedience and seeking God with all his heart could have brought prosperity and an enduring kingdom despite setbacks. Though prophecy was fulfilled through his foolish leadership, it is possible that the judgment could have been delayed, as it was during Solomon's life. But instead, he set in motion not only a kingdom divided, but a kingdom fallen - one that was headed for exile due to blatant defiance of God, despite seeing and experiencing the results of such rebellion firsthand by his father's example.
